October Meeting “Begonias for any Season”

The  next meeting of the Agawam Garden Club will be held Tuesday, October 11th, 6:30 PM, at the Captain Charles Leonard House.  After a short business meeting Betsey Szymczak will present a program titled “A Begonia for any Season”.   Betsy, a retired college professor, is a Certified MA Master Gardener, A National Garden Club Consultant, and the current president of the Natick Garden Club. She is the American Begonia Society Judging Co-Chair and has judged the begonia sections at the Philadelphia, Boston, and Newport RI flower show. This program will feature how to grow begonias both inside and out. Far from ordinary, begonias are wonderful houseplants; many make lovely terrarium specimens.  Outside begonias as bedding and container plants are a beautiful addition to any garden. The Captain Charles Leonard House is located at 663 Main Street, Agawam.  All meetings are open to the public and not restricted to Agawam residents.
